I'm Here ^_^
I am here!! And tired ^_^ I am not jet lag just tired. Read more and you can see why.
Anyways I arrive last night at 11:00PM Tuesday night (9AM Tuesday morning for all you north americaners).

I was greeted by my first and second host family ^_^ I was so shy..... -_-....and nervous . All I could say was "Ni Hao". However all the rotarians and my host families spoke English. My current host mother and sister speak English so well. I feel bad because my Chinese is so horrible.

Get this my second host sister name is "Ready"!! Mom why couldn't you name me something like that?

After that my host mom and sister drove us home. I was tired but excited. Straight when I got home I took a shower and afterwords fell right tosleep.

I also found out that in Taiwan all high schools started on Tuesday. Except my school is different and starts on Monday. Also get this my school is the #1 school. It a very competitive place. Also my school is right next to an all boys school. Yes Mehru, I can already imagine your response.
(Of course since I am in a Chinese speaking area everything is written in Chinese..including Taipei.)

This morning I woke up and unpack all my clothes and important stuff. Still have more to unpack.

I then went down stairs to have breakfast (toast and fruit --Apples & Peaches). My host sister is at school today and my host father is living south of Taiwan for work. So it was just my host mom and I.

It was a busy day today. She showed me the route --by bus to my school (which btw the way if F...CKING HUGE) . Seriously the University and my high school combine (from Canada) look like infants or peas compare to myhigh school in Taiwan.

I understood the bus route but then on the way back we went a different way and I got totally confused. T_T though we're going that way again for School Orientation on Friday so it all good.

I also learn the MRT and Bus System. Pretty simple...more so then NYC. Well the MRT anyways. The bus system kind of makes sense to me...kind of.

My host mom also discuss the possibilities of getting a cell phone.

I also got my official Taiwanese alien residency card. I also got a Chinese name...but I can't remember it that well 0_0 I probably should since my host mom was signing documents with that name.

I also try out green tea, orange juice (totally different from Canada)and milk. Milk in this country taste a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

Food portions...like Japan are huge. Also eating with real chopsticks slow me down.

The heat is sweltering. Seriously I am sweating like crazy. I have air conditioning in my room but I have it off. The heat inside the house reminds me of home--where we have no air conditioning.

Basically today we walk for 4 hours. My host mom also bought me a shirt for a gift. I was shock and felt bad. I still have to give my gifts.

I also bought 2 post cards which came out to be 35NT. Guess how much that is in Canadian? 1 dollar and 5 cents. This place is so cheap. My host mom said a exchange student from last year had 10 suitcases of stuff to bring back. I can see why.

(Flight here was 24 hours long...)

Later on August 30th

So after I came home I went to sleep for a hour. Hearing Chinese all day and trying to concentrate tires you out. So before the 2 pictures above I wrote that before I went to sleep. Now on the 31st I am writing about what I did later on the 30th.

I woke up at about 6PM and my host mom took me to my first night market. A night market is a place where they sell food, clothing and all kinds of stuff. There we ate many Chinese food such as sweet potato, oyster pancakes and more.

The Taiwanese love to eat. Like the Japanese. They are also very fashionable.

Things I hve noticed:
-Lot of stray dogs
-Everything is cute.
-They eat 10x more then Canadians.
-Very hard workers.

Other then that I do not have much to report. ^_^ Today I will relax at home.
