Orientation Vlog Part 1 & 2

"Acceptance is such an important commodity, some have called it "the first law of personal growth." -Peter McWilliams
So I have 23 days left of school Originally we have 27 days left however five of those days will be spent in America on Vacation So really we don't have that many days left. I am glad we don't because I am getting tired. Grade 12 is draining all the energy out of me. Literally. I had so much motivation at the beginning, but now it is all lost. I have to literally push my mind set to do it. Most of my senior classmates are the same way though. We are all ready to graduate.

So I vlogged in 2 parts how my Orientation (April 29th-May1st) for Exchange went on Saturday and now it up on youtube. However I will repost it here, on my blog, since yeah.

So I am absolutely loving Mandarin classesThey're my absolute favorite times of the week. I have Mandarin on Mondays and Fridays. They make the Mondays more durable and the Friday more exciting. My teacher told me that I am doing really good and I am glad. She is a really good teacher and we have a lot in common so we get a long well. I feel sorry for her though (she is my private tutor btw) because she has to endure my horrible tonal pronunciation. I suck at tones Though she says I am getting better each class, which gives me hope Thank God I am going to a part of Taiwan that uses a lot of Mandarin. Mandarin has 4 tones. Taiwanese has 7. I am learning Mandarin. Learning 4 tones is enough for me. I think the hardest part about tones for English Speakers is we can't tell the difference between them (when spoken fast) unless they're spoken slow and exaggerated. And I think how I am currently learning is by memorizing words and then guessing what the sentence would mean by those words. Though I will have to get a grasp on tones. Hopefully before I leave. The 4 tones for Mandarin are: Straight, Up, V-like and Down. So when I pronounce words I am bobbing my head in the direction of the word to the get the tone right (and even then, when I am studying on my own, I do not know if the correct tone I am using). My friends find me bobbing my head up and down funny. I was practicing at school today and they got a kicks of my head shaking (which I guess kind of looks funny). I just pray that by the time I leave or half way through my exchange I won't be bobbing my head anymore and will be able to tell the tones apart. My goal is to accomplish these things. I know I can do this if I work hard.
